Adam Guy

Hartlepool Food Partnership – Coordinator
My background has almost always been linked to the food sector in some shape or form. I was born and bred on a dairy, beef and sheep farm before having several years in academic food-production research. I then ran my own food-production business for seven years (dressings and balsamic vinegars) and I have three young kids and so I understand the challenges parents have in getting them to eat what you want them to.
My role with the Partnership initially focused largely on Food Mapping and Procurement work found HERE; this aims to help improve connections between local food producers and buyers, increase access to healthy and local food, benefit the local economy and reduce food miles.
More recently my role has gradually broadened to further areas as the Co-ordinator for the Food Partnership. This includes work on community growing, the seed libraries, growing projects with schools and nurseries, engaging with local partners involved with food-related work and community engagement (including talks and activities for adults and children).

Hartlepool Food Partnership
I’ve been involved with the Hartlepool Food Partnership from the outset – when Hartlepool’s Director of Public Health requested that an organisation separate from Hartlepool Borough Council led on establishing a Food Partnership for the town. My role concerns ensuring sound governance, joining up food-related work in Hartlepool and supporting Food Partnership team members in their work.
