Hartlepool Food Partnership

Kid’s Corner

The Hartlepool Food Partnership loves to encourage people to eat food that is good for you. You can do this by eating more fruit and vegetables, choosing brown bread for your sandwiches or trying not to eat too many sugar.

Cartoon Mascot Winners!

We were absolutely delighted to receive over 640 healthy-eating themed entries, from across Hartlepool, for the Hartlepool Food Partnership Cartoon Mascot competition, thankyou again to everyone that entered. This is our winning entry by Boaz, we hope you love it as much as we do!

Coming soon: fun activity cards using 30 of the brilliant Cartoon Mascot entries – play snap, pairs, happy families and more!

Kids’ Corner Magazine

In partnership with HBC and local organisations, we have produced the first Issue of Kids Corner magazine, a copy of which we plan to provide to every primary school-aged child across the town (the printing being very gratefully funded by HBC). The magazine is full of fun activities, stories, a competition and more, all with a focus on healthy eating/living and good dental health. As well as paper copies being distributed, please find an electronic copy below:

Any comments will be gratefully received at info@hartlepoolfoodpartnership.co.uk. A second issue will be printed and distributed later this year in the early weeks of the Autumn school term.

The 5-7 Challenge!

How close can you get to eating the recommended 5 portions of fruit and veg a day over 7 days, print a copy of The 5-7 Challenge and find out! Please let us know how you do!

Activity Sheets

Here are some brilliant activities for you to do. Feel free to print the pages off, make use of them and, if you like, throw us an email (with your grown up’s permission and help) at info@hartlepoolfoodpartnership.co.uk to let us know how you got on.

Would you like a certificate?

We love to hear stories of young people growing fruit and veg, trying something new or having a go at cooking. We would be delighted to give you a certificate to celebrate, and put you on our Hartlepool Achievement Map, if you can say one of:

“I Grew Something New Today”

Are you having a go at growing something to eat, be it cress in an egg shell, tomatoes on a window sill, potatoes on your parents’ allotment or anything else? Let us know, how is it going? Are you going to eat it once it’s grown?

“I Tried Something New Today”

Have you tried a new fruit or veg that you’ve not tried before or previously were not sure about? How was it? We would love to know!

“I Cooked Something New Today”

Have you helped cook a healthy dish? What was it, how did it go and, of course, was it tasty?

In any one of these three areas (for example, growing potatoes in an outdoor bucket), let us know about it HERE, send us a picture of your achievement too if you like.

You’ll then receive a personalised bronze certificate. We can send it by email or you can collect it from Greenbank in Stranton.

If you then you do further (e.g.) growing activities and let us know you can get silver and gold certificates also for that category.

If you like, we can then put your achievement(s) on our Hartlepool Wall of Achievement, where you can find your entry, and over time we can build up an exciting record of all the brilliant achievements that young Hartlepool people are doing. This is just the start, but in time, we hope it will start to look like this:
